The BFA show was very interesting. There were some very well designed pieces of art in the gallery. That is the first time that I have walked through it this year, and I was very surprised at how nice and put together everything was. There were many pieces that caught my attention, so I will name a few of them. I really enjoyed Toshie McSwain’s pillows, all the digital printing, the woven bags using VHS tapes (very interesting…I think they looked very professional), plexiglass that was laser cut (it takes plexiglass to a whole new level), Kelly Lever’s planted earth mixed media (I really loved this piece…I thought the use of colors was great, and I loved how it was a combination of fabric, paint, wallpaper, and so on), the oil canvas paintings (I thought they looked very surreal), Hello. This is me personal identity (very creative, great use of color…it is nice to see how other people market themselves), Recycle (this was also another one of my favorites…I really liked how they used the wall it really helped get their message across, and I think they were all very powerful statements and made you think about recycling more. The BFA gallery was a great experience. I really enjoyed looking at all the work.
